Apartment Security Blueprint

The Three-Layer Security Standard — delivered to paid apartment clients.

The Three Layers of the Apex Security Standard

Your personalized implementation roadmap

Layer 1: Physical Hardening (The Barrier)
+15pts

Prevent or delay physical entry

The Recommendation:

The Master Lock 265D Security Bar

Why: Most apartment dwellers cannot replace strike plates or deadbolts without violating their lease. This bar provides 1,000 lbs of resistance against a door being kicked in. It's portable, requires zero tools, and is the single most effective "non-permanent" physical deterrent.

Layer 2: Detection & Deterrence (The Eyes)
+20pts

Early warning and evidence collection

GOOD Tier
Budget: ~$200

For clients who want a recognizable brand, low upfront cost, and simple setup.

The Catch: Requires a monthly subscription ($5/mo) for video history and professional monitoring options.

BETTER Tier
Budget: ~$250-$300

For clients who want higher performance, privacy, and NO monthly fees.

The Benefit: Zero subscriptions. The system pays for itself in 12 months.

BEST Tier
Budget: $300+

For clients who want the best possible video quality, 360-degree coverage, and maximum deterrence.

The Eyes: Eufy Indoor Cam S350 (Dual Camera) - 4K resolution, 8x zoom, 360-degree pan/tilt

The Benefit: Professional-grade visuals and storage without the professional-grade installation headache.

Layer 3: Behavioral Protocol (The Operator)
+10pts

Eliminating human error and complacency

The "Zero-State" Nightly Checklist

I. The Daily Execution (Routine)
  • The "Lock-Out" Drill: Every time the door closes, it locks. No exceptions. A door left unlocked for 60 seconds is a door that doesn't exist.
  • The Evening Reset: At 2100 (9:00 PM), perform a physical sweep:
    1. Check the deadbolt
    2. Check the window latches
    3. Arm the system to "Home" mode
    4. Verify phone is on charger with emergency alerts bypassed for "Do Not Disturb"
  • The Perimeter Check: When approaching the apartment, eyes off the phone. Keys in hand before reaching the door. Scan the hallway.
II. The Digital Discipline
  • Notification Management: Enable "Critical Alerts" on your device so alarms bypass silence modes.
  • The 5-Second Rule: When a motion alert triggers, view the live feed within 5 seconds.
  • Privacy Protocol: Use "Geofencing" or "Privacy Mode" when home, toggle to "Away" when you leave.
III. The Deterrent Response (The "Voice of God")
  • Immediate Engagement: If camera detects unauthorized person, use Two-Way Talk immediately.
"You are being recorded on a live security feed. Leave the property now. Police have been dispatched."
  • The "No-Entry" Rule: Never open the door to a stranger. Use the camera. The door stays shut.
IV. The Maintenance Standard
  • The Sunday Audit: Check battery levels on all sensors and cameras every Sunday.
  • Connectivity Test: Once a month, trigger the alarm intentionally to ensure functionality.
  • Zero-State Sweep:
    1. Physical check (Bar in place, windows latched)
    2. Digital check (Cameras armed, notifications on)
    3. Defensive staging (Flashlight and defensive tool in "Ready" position)
